Job summary

Robert Price Builders’ Merchants Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a Yard Worker and Forklift Driver to manage stock, pick orders and assist customers. You will operate a counterbalance forklift, handle loading/unloading tasks, and contribute to a smooth warehouse workflow.

Qualifications

• Counterbalance forklift licence is essential.
• GCSE Maths or equivalent understood measurements.
• Proven teamwork and reliability in warehouse roles.
• Willingness to engage with customers and provide good service.
• Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised after training.
• Organised, tidy and quick to grasp new concepts.
• Manual handling up to 25kg and knowledge of building materials.

Key responsibilities

• General warehouse duties and stock management.

The role offers scope to develop selling skills, customer service and an understanding of materials, stock control, orders and deliveries.

Essential skills & experience

• Counterbalance forklift licence.
• GCSE Maths (minimum grade C or a good understanding of metric and imperial measurements and basic mental arithmetic).
• Proven teamwork skills.
• Naturally tidy and organised.
• Willingness to engage with customers and provide good customer service.
• Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised once trained.
• Reliable, industrious, adaptable and quick to grasp new concepts.
• Manual handling up to 25kg.
• Good knowledge of building materials and their usage.
• An interest in sales and in the construction industry.
