Job summary

SIG Roofing is seeking a reliable Yard Operative to join our team at one of the UK’s leading roofing merchants. You will help with storage, picking and loading to ensure fast, accurate service for customers.

Working in a safety-first environment, you will maintain stock records, carry out forklift checks and support stocktaking, while helping colleagues deliver excellent service across branches.

Responsibilities

• Receive and store goods accurately in the correct locations within the warehouse/yard.
• Prepare customer orders according to sales requirements and load them onto vehicles.
• Sign for deliveries, report stock breakages, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
• Carry out daily checks and maintain forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment in a safe working condition.
• Promote a 'Everyone Safe, Every Day' culture by ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.
• Build positive relationships with customers at the collection and returns point.
• Be flexible and assist with stocktaking and overtime as required.
