Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Shunter to join our team at the Nestlé Purina site in Hams Hall, Birmingham. This full-time, permanent role is site-based and on a rota: any 5 days out of 7, including weekends, with shifts 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00.

You will manoeuvre trailers, perform vehicle checks, position trailers on loading bays, and coordinate with warehouse teams. Applicants should hold a Full UK driving licence with C+E, have minimal penalty points, and be able to

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement.
• Less than six points on licence with no DR/DG/DD endorsements in past 5 years.
• Ability to work safely in fast-paced logistics environments.

Responsibilities

• Safely manoeuvre trailers between loading bays, parking areas and yard locations.
• Conduct pre-movement vehicle and trailer checks and report defects.
• Position and secure trailers to support loading, unloading and dispatch.
• Maintain records of trailer movements and communicate with teams.
• Monitor the yard and ensure safe parking to maximise space.
• Follow site traffic plans and Nestlé Purina policies.
