Job summary

Culina is seeking a night-shift operative in Tilbury to ensure smooth loading and unloading of trailers, maintain safety standards, and coordinate yard operations. The role requires strict adherence to site rules, timely reporting, and proactive maintenance and checks throughout each shift.

Working 4on4off nights, you will liaise with transport and warehouse teams to keep operations running efficiently, perform daily inspections, and support fuel and MOT tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Experience with loading/unloading trailers and yard operations.
• Ability to follow site procedures and health & safety rules.
• Good time management and reporting duties.

Responsibilities

• Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
• Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
• Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
• Conducting daily checks, reporting defects and completing documentation
• Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and reporting to ops staff
• Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
• Carrying out shunting duties including maintenance and safety checks
• Liaising with warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth loading/unloading of trailers
• Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
• Monitoring services / MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
• Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
• Liaising with Transport Office on promotions and/or livery schedules
• Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard

Working within the Transport Department the main purpose of the role is to ensure a smooth transition when loading, unloading trailers, and ensuring maintenance and safety at all times.

Salary

£41,262.40 PA

Job Description

• Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
• Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive

• Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff
• Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
• Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
• Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
• Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
• Monitoring services / MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
• Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuelKeeping yard in clean / tidy condition
• Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedules
