Job summary

Culina is seeking a Yard Operator to manage trailer movements, yard operations and safety across our loading docks. The role runs a night shift from 19:00 to 07:00, 4 on 4 off, with an annual salary of £40,724.

You will ensure timely trailer placement, monitor fridge temperatures, fuel levels and maintain site hygiene to high standards. The ideal candidate holds an LGV licence, CPC card, and driving experience with LGVs, plus strong communication and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a busy

Qualifications

• Full driving licence and LGV licence required.
• CPC Driver Card required.
• Experience driving LGVs and shunting preferred.
• Ability to work under time-critical deadlines.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
• Fridge knowledge desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Manual Handling training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Place trailers in the required areas as per instruction.
• Undertake effective yard management ensuring all Site Rules are adhered to.
• Support the continuity of Warehouse operations and processes.
• Maintain contact with areas of the operation as necessary.
• Ensure all safety checks are carried out as designated by the Company.
• Report defects, accident damage and incidents promptly.
• Ensure fridges are set at correct temperature per product requirements.
• Ensure fridge diesel tanks have adequate fuel.
• Report breaches in speed limits by drivers and sub contractors.
• Keep vehicle parking layouts correct and report debris to the office.
• Maintain hygiene and housekeeping to company standards.
• Adhere to Health & Safety legislation.

To ensure timely trailer movements, on and off of loading bays, and to ensure the yard is managed correctly and safely at all times, with all vehicle movement being controlled in line with Company standards and operational requirements.

Shift – 19:00 to 07:00, working 4 on 4 off

Annual Salary of £40,724

Weekly Pay

Main Responsibilities:

• Place trailers in the required areas as per instruction
• Undertake effective yard management ensuring all Site Rules are adhered to
• Support the continuity of Warehouse operations and processes
• Maintain contact with areas of the operation as necessary
• Ensure all safety checks are carried out as designated by the Company.
• Ensure that defects, accident damage and any incidents are reported as soon as they are found.
• Ensure fridges are set at the correct temperature, in line with loaded product temperature requirements.
• Ensure fridge diesel tanks have adequate fuel at all times.
• Report any breaches in speed limits by drivers and sub contractors to the office.
• Keep vehicle parking area layouts as they should be and report any issues of debris to the office
• Ensure that Company standards of hygiene and housekeeping, are maintained at all times
• Adhere to Health & Safety legislation

Qualifications

• Manual Handling procedures
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance

• Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised and time-critical environment
