Job summary

Travis Perkins is looking for a Yard Assistant to join our team. Based at our branch, you will handle customer orders, assist loading and unloading vehicles, and help keep the yard tidy and safe. Full training is provided, and you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with daytime hours.

You’ll need good interpersonal skills, be physically capable of handling heavy stock, and follow health and safety guidelines to protect yourself and colleagues. A great team culture awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles
• Ability to lift and move heavy stock
• Comfort with outdoor yard conditions
• Ability to operate forklift is a plus (training provided)
• Commitment to safety and tidy work area

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders at the yard
• Load and unload customer and company vehicles
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and book in the warehouse
• Assist with site housekeeping and safety compliance
• Complete training provided for yard operations

• You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
• You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
• Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don't worry full training is provided
• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

• This is a key customer facing role, so you will need to be enthusiastic and have great interpersonal skills.
• Be confident in your physical ability to process heavy and bulky stock throughout the Yard, within our health and safety guidelines.
