J Browne Construction is seeking a proactive Yards Person to maintain a clean, safe yard and support civils reactive works. You will manage plant, stock and procurement, coordinate hires, and ensure records are accurate. The role involves basic repairs and vehicle maintenance, with opportunities to grow within the business.

The position offers a hands-on, practical work environment in the South East of the UK, requiring strong organisation and teamwork. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualificações

• Experience in a yard, construction, or civils environment (desirable but not essential).
• Basic IT skills and confidence using systems to manage stock and records.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Proactive, reliable, and positive “can-do” attitude.
• Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficiently run yard.
• Manage plant, stock, and procurement activities.
• Track, inspect, and prepare plant equipment for use.
• Coordinate hires and manage stock levels.
• Support purchasing of materials.
• Carry out basic repairs where possible.
• Organise vehicle maintenance.
• Keep records accurate and up to date.
