Job summary

Clancy in Lenham is seeking a Yard Person to maintain the yard, handle materials and equipment, and support daily operations in all weather conditions. The role emphasizes safety, organisation, and efficient site management.

You will work outdoors, perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending, and contribute to waste disposal and recycling efforts. A full UK driving licence is essential, and forklift/HGV qualifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience with stores/material handling in utilities or construction yards/sites.
• Strong organisation skills and attention to detail in high-volume environments.
• Ability to follow safety regulations and use PPE.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety regulations, wear PPE, and report hazards.
• Assist with deliveries, coordinate material and equipment requests, and support daily operations.
• Maintain accurate records of materials and equipment and communicate with the team.
• Manage the skips on site and ensure proper disposal, with recycling where possible.
• Monitor vehicles to ensure depot safety and driving rules.
• Assist with stock checks as required.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy, and routinely inspected.
