Job summary

Stobart (Part of the Culina Group) is recruiting a Yard Operative to support the smooth operation of the yard and ensure trailers are organized and ready for use. You will work with the transport team to maintain a safe yard and follow Health & Safety procedures.

The role involves forklift operation, loading/unloading, and admin tasks. Training will be provided for the right candidate, including potential FLT licence progression.

Qualifications

• Good attention to detail and ability to work in a busy outdoor environment.
• Able to carry out administrative tasks and complete operational reports.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training for FLT licence.

Responsibilities

• Organising and managing trailers within the yard to support operational requirements.
• Using a Forklift Truck (FLT) to move loads between trailers safely and efficiently.
• Loading and unloading trailers as required.
• Sorting and processing returned goods in line with company procedures.
• Ensuring trailers are correctly positioned for planned collections and deliveries.
• Carrying out routine yard checks and reporting defects or safety concerns.
• Completing day-to-day administrative tasks and operational reporting on time.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
• Operating all equipment in line with safe systems of work and company procedures.
• Collaborating with transport, warehouse, and operations teams to support business needs.
