Job summary

Stobart Rugby is seeking a Yard Operative for a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Friday, 8:00–18:00 with a salary of £30,223 per year. You will organise trailers in the yard, operate a Forklift Truck and support the transport team to keep operations safe and efficient.

Active attention to detail is essential; you will also handle administrative tasks and reports, working independently or with colleagues. Training will be provided; FLT licence is desirable though not essential.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with ability to work in busy outdoor environment.
• Able to complete administrative tasks and operational reports.
• Capable of working independently and in a team.
• Willing to learn and training; FLT licence desirable.
• Experience in yard/warehouse/transport/logistics advantageous; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Organising and managing trailers within the yard to support operational requirements.
• Using a Forklift Truck (FLT) to move loads between trailers safely and efficiently.
• Loading and unloading trailers as required.
• Sorting and processing returned goods in line with company procedures.
• Ensuring trailers are correctly positioned and available for planned collections and deliveries.
• Carrying out routine yard checks and reporting any defects, damage, or safety concerns.
• Completing day-to-day administrative tasks and operational reporting accurately and on time.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment at all times.
• Operating all equipment in line with safe systems of work and company procedures.
• Working collaboratively with transport, warehouse, and operational teams to support business requirements.
