Job summary

Huws Gray Barnsley is looking for a Yard Operative/Relief HGV Driver to join our busy yard team. You’ll provide friendly, knowledgeable service to customers, help with loading/unloading, and support deliveries while keeping the yard tidy and secure.

No expert required—training will be provided and HIAB certification can be gained. A Class 2 licence is required; forklift is a bonus but not essential. We offer development opportunities and a range of staff benefits.

Qualifications

• You will need a Class 2 licence to operate the vehicles for this role.
• Forklift licence is a bonus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing a friendly, knowledgeable service to customers in the yard
• Safely receiving and organising deliveries - keeping the yard tidy and secure
• Supporting with vehicle loading/unloading - helping the team get deliveries out on time
• Making occasional local deliveries – when cover is needed
• Being vigilant about stock security and safety procedures
