Job summary

Our client in Bodiam, East Sussex is seeking a Yard Operative/Trainee Quality Control to join their busy team. The role involves goods in/out, packaging finished goods, and training to perform quality control on completed and powder-coated goods.

The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, a valid Counterbalance Licence, and a full UK driving licence with own transport. Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm, £13.25 per hour, Temp to Perm.

• Demonstrable experience of forklift operating
• Must hold a Valid Counterbalance Licence
• Be a strong team player
• Ability to work under pressure and have a 'can do' attitude
• Have an excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Due to the location of the vacancy a full UK Driving Licence and own transport is essential

Responsibilities

• Following the goods in/out processes and responsible for packaging finished goods for the customer
• Working from issued drawings and signing off work as required
• After completion of training, you will carry out the quality control of completed manufactured goods and powder coated goods
• Carrying out full pallet listings for our customers of the finished goods
• Ensuring all project cards are kept up to date
• Packaging of all completed projects
• Follow all processes and procedures contained within our ISO9001/BSEN1090 QMS relating to the goods in and goods out process
• Yard duties
• Preparation of planter fixings
• Forklifting responsibilities inclusive of loading/unloading lorries
• Any other tasks as directed by Line Manager

Our client is an established engineering company based in Bodiam, providing a wide range of welding, fabrication and control systems to commercial and domestic clients. They are currently looking for a Yard Operative/Trainee Quality Control to join their hardworking and busy team.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of operating a Forklift, as well as previous warehouse experience. You will hold a Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence, be a strong team player with a 'can do' attitude.

As a Yard Operative/Trainee Quality Control you will follow the goods in/out processes and be responsible for packaging finished goods for the customer, work from issued drawings and signing off work as required and carrying out full pallet listings for customers of the finished goods. Once training is completed you will carry out the quality control or completed manufactured goods and powder coated goods.

Due to the location of the vacancy a full UK Driving Licence and own transport are essential.
