Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to join a busy team in Battle. The role combines yard duties, goods in/out, quality checks, and packaging with full training provided on QC processes.

The ideal candidate will be organised, enjoy team work, hold a valid forklift licence and a full UK driving licence. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position with day shifts in Battle.

Responsibilities

• Support goods in and goods out processes.
• Pack and prepare completed projects for customers.
• Carry out quality checks on finished products after training.
• Follow engineering drawings and complete relevant documentation.
• Prepare pallet listings and maintain project records.
• Load and unload vehicles using a forklift.
• Support stock and consumable control.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workplace.
• Occasional cover at another local warehouse site when required.

Our client is looking for a reliable and hands‑on Forklift Operatorto join their busy team. This is a varied role combining yard duties, goods in and goods out, quality checking, packaging and general warehouse support.

The successful candidate will be organised and comfortable working as part of a friendly team. Full training will be provided on the quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting goods in and goods out processes
• Packaging and preparing completed projects for customers
• Carrying out quality checks on finished products following training
• Working from engineering drawings and completing relevant documentation
• Preparing full pallet listings and keeping project records up to date
• Loading and unloading vehicles using a forklift where required
• Supporting stock and consumable control
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Providing occasional cover at another local warehouse site when required

Skills & Experience

• Full UK driving licence is essential
• Previous experience within a yard, warehouse, steelwork or similar environment would be advantageous
• Forklift licence is essential
• Ability to understand engineering drawings would be beneficial, although training can be provided
• Good IT skills
• Comfortable carrying out some heavy lifting
• Flexible and able to manage changing priorities
