Lawsons Ltd. Camden branch is seeking a reliable Yard Operative to join the team. The role involves keeping the yard safe, organised and running efficiently, supporting timber, building, fencing and landscaping product handling for customer collections and deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Pick and prepare customer orders accurately.
• Organise and maintain stock within the yard.
• Support customers with collections and loading purchases where appropriate.
• Check goods for quality and report shortages or damage.
• Work closely with branch colleagues, drivers and the sales team.
• Keep the yard, warehouse and surrounding areas clean and well organised.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.

We're now looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team at our Camden branch.

The Role

This is a hands-on role where you'll play an important part in keeping the yard safe, organised and running efficiently, while providing excellent service to our customers.

Working as part of a busy branch team, you'll support the receipt, storage and preparation of timber, building, fencing and landscaping products for customer collections and deliveries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently

• Picking and preparing customer orders accurately

• Organising and maintaining stock within the yard

• Supporting customers with collections and loading purchases where appropriate

• Checking goods for quality and reporting any shortages or damage

• Working closely with branch colleagues, drivers and the sales team

• Keeping the yard, warehouse and surrounding areas clean, tidy and well organised

• Following all company health and safety procedures

• Using yard equipment responsibly and completing all required checks

You'll need:

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, builders' merchant, distribution or similar environment is essential

• A live forklift licence

• A strong commitment to health and safety

• Good communication and customer service skills

• The ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding role

Working Hours, Salary & Benefits

• Working hours: Monday-Friday between 07:00-17:00, plus 1 in 2 Saturdays from 08:00-12:00

• Salary: £30,175 per annum

• Holiday: 25 days' holiday plus UK Bank Holidays and an additional celebration day
