Job summary

Lawsons Ltd. Camden branch is seeking a reliable Yard Operative to join the team. The role involves keeping the yard safe, organised and running efficiently, supporting timber, building, fencing and landscaping product handling for customer collections and deliveries.

As part of a busy branch team, you will manage receipt, storage and preparation of stock, protect quality, and help customers with loading. A live forklift licence is essential, and a strong commitment to health and safety is

Qualifications

• Experience in yard/warehouse or builders' merchant environment is essential.
• Live forklift licence is required.
• Positive, hardworking and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Pick and prepare customer orders accurately.
• Organise and maintain stock within the yard.
• Support customers with collections and loading purchases where appropriate.
• Check goods for quality and report shortages or damage.
• Work closely with branch colleagues, drivers and the sales team.
• Keep the yard, warehouse and surrounding areas clean and well organised.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
