Job description

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Yard Operative/HGV Driver on behalf of one of our fantastic clients based in Bedfordshire.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Move vehicles to the workshop and around the yard when required.
• Take vehicles for MOT’s.
• Valet the vehicles ready to be collected by the customer or delivered to the customer.
• Ensure all additional equipment for the delivery is in place.
• Ensure all paperwork is correct if required.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workshop and yard area.
• Exhibit a flexible work ethic and attention to detail; occasional night away may be required.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and assist with parts where necessary.
• Handle deliveries and collections to and from customers and suppliers, including HGV’s and parts.
• Assist with the stock take.

Skills and Qualifications:

• HGV 2 licence.
• Experience working in a similar industry is desirable but not essential.
• Experience of working in a workshop environment would be an advantage.
• Commit to working safely and in accordance with the company’s health and safety procedures, including adopting the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
