Job description

Hours:

Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week – start time between 06:00-10:00

About our client:

The market leader in High Tech Logistics solutions & a trusted partner to some of the leading global medical & technical product manufacturers.

About the role:

Day to day driving of HGV class 2 vehicles within the UK, delivering, offloading, positioning and installation of customer equipment as required – 40% of role driving, 60% installation.

Roles & responsibilities of HGV driver:
  • General driving duties within the UK in any class of vehicle up to that permitted by the driving licence
  • Vehicle checks in line with the Staff Handbook & reporting of defects, accidents, incidents, and near-hits
  • Loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring correct equipment is loaded, goods are checked, secure, and fit for transit
  • Delivery, offloading, positioning, and installation for various customer jobs
  • Manual handling, carrying, lifting, and installation of customer equipment
  • Maintaining and cleaning of vehicles as required
  • Completing delivery paperwork, timesheets, and other documentation for each job

Skills & experience:
  • Experienced driver with a category C licence and full CPC Card
  • Experience in transportation and delivery of high tech, high value systems (beneficial)
  • Flexible with regards to hours
  • Ability to complete required timesheets and paperwork
  • Experience in dealing directly with customers and good communication skills
  • Good team player with a flexible and can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Knowledge of Tachograph legislation
  • Knowledge of the Working Time Directive
