Galliford Try Plc seeks a reliable Yard Operative to support daily operations in Keighley. The role involves material handling, stock control, fabrication support, and general yard duties to ensure safe and efficient materials, equipment and environment.

Responsibilities include plant movements, loading/unloading, stock checks, material prep via drilling/cutting, and assistance to workshop activities while upholding health and safety standards. A proactive team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication/workshop/yard/construction environments.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Experience using workshop tools and machinery, including cutting and drilling equipment.
• Strong health and safety understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant movements within the yard.
• Load, unload, and store materials safely.
• Carry out stock checks and maintain inventory.
• Prepare materials through drilling, cutting, and dressing.
• Support workshop fabrication activities.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Assist site teams with steelwork installations when required.

Galliford Try is seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to support the day-to-day operation of our workshop and yard facilities in Keighley. This is a hands-on position involving material handling, stock control, fabrication support, and general yard duties. You'll play an important role in ensuring materials, equipment, and the working environment are maintained safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Managing plant movements within the yard
• Loading, unloading, and storing materials safely
• Carrying out stock checks and maintaining inventory records
• Preparing materials through drilling, cutting, and dressing
• Supporting workshop fabrication activities
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping
• Assisting site teams with steelwork installations when required
• Working in line with company health and safety procedures
  Experience within a fabrication, workshop, yard, or construction environment
• Valid CSCS card
• Experience using workshop tools and machinery, including cutting and drilling equipment
• Good understanding of health and safety practices
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to undertake manual work
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
