Temp to Permanent Opportunity

Pay: £14.10 - £14.42 per hour

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a growing and dynamic operation. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in materials handling, stock movement, and outdoor working environments who is looking for a long-term career opportunity.

Working as part of a wider operations team, you will play a key role in ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation across the site.

The Role

As a Yard Operative, your day-to-day duties will include:

• Receiving incoming deliveries and preparing outgoing shipments
• Operating a Forklift Truck (FLT) to transport materials across the site
• Carrying out goods-in checks and ensuring stock records remain accurate
• Organising products and materials within designated storage locations
• Supporting inventory counts and stock monitoring activities
• Maintaining tidy, safe, and efficient working areas
• Assisting other departments during busy periods where required
• Carrying out general site duties and manual handling tasks
• Identifying and reporting any damaged stock, equipment issues, or safety concerns
• Working in line with company procedures and health and safety guidelines

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence
• Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, distribution, manufacturing, or similar environment
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety standards
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Comfortable performing physical duties, including lifting and moving materials
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards

Desirable

• Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing setting
• GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
