Job summary

Mabey Hire in Strood is seeking a Yard Operative to join our depot team. You will support daily operations by loading stock onto lorries, checking against picking lists, and ensuring accurate stock control.

This role offers the chance to grow within a busy yard environment and contribute to efficient site logistics. The ideal candidate holds an FLT licence and a full UK driving licence, with hands-on experience in an operative position.

Qualifications

• FLT licence required.
• Valid UK driving licence essential.
• Experience in an operative role is required.

Responsibilities

• Load product onto lorries and stack against picking lists with accuracy.
• Unload, segregate and identify incoming equipment to ensure correct stock.
• Record receipt of loads and maintain accurate records after hire or supplier deliveries.
• Adhere to Health and Safety requirements in depot during loading/unloading.
• Inspect equipment for damage and ensure kit is fit for future use.
• Drive or operate work equipment to complete daily tasks within timescales.

Key Responsibilities

• Load product onto lorries and stack against picking lists and other authorised documentation ensuring accuracy of delivery of stock
• Unload, segregate and arrange identification of incoming equipment (both non-hire and hire equipment) to ensure accuracy of picking
• Record receipt of loads following return from hire or goods received from supplier to enable accurate records to be maintained
• Comply with Health and Safety requirements in depot to ensure loading, unloading and moving stock is carried out in a safe and secure environment
• Inspect equipment for any damage in accordance with the quality manual and ensure kit is fit for future use
• Drive or use work equipment to enable daily routines to be completed within timescales
