Job summary

Derek Lewis Ltd is seeking a full-time Yard Operative based at our head office in Balby, Doncaster. A valid UK driving licence is required due to the nature of the role.

Your duties include preparing and refuelling plant machinery, assisting the yard team, stock checks, loading/unloading with a forklift (training provided), and delivering materials to site. You will help maintain a tidy site and support the Yard Manager for efficient stock handling.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid UK driving licence.
• Experience in yard or materials handling is desirable.
• Willing to undergo training for forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and refuel plant machinery before site delivery.
• Assist yard manager and team with tasks.
• Housekeeping and keep premises clean and in order.
• Deliver and collect materials to construction sites.
• Load/unload equipment and palletised materials with forklift.
• Take stock deliveries and store correctly.
• Perform weekly/monthly stock checks.

£13 - £15 per hour (Subject to experience and additional driving licence qualifications) (HGV)

We currently seek to recruit a full-time Yard Operative who will be based at our head office in Balby, Doncaster. The successful candidate must have a valid UK driving licence, due to the nature of the role. Assisting and providing support for the Yard Manager, general duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing / cleaning and refuelling of plant machinery prior to site delivery.
• Assisting the yard team with various tasks.
• General housekeeping, ensuring the premises are always kept in good order.
• Delivering and collecting of materials and supplies to construction sites.
• Loading / Unloading of equipment and palleted materials using a forklift truck (Training provided)
• Taking stock deliveries and storing them in the correct areas as directed.
• Picking and preparing next day stock orders.
• Completing weekly / monthly stock checks as requested.
