Overview

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Yard Manager / Office Supervisor for a marina group in Cambridgeshire. The role involves hands-on work, supervising yard staff, and customer liaison. Applications from ex-military personnel are encouraged, but all candidates will be considered.

Background

• The company owns four main marina sites in Cambridgeshire.
• The owner plans to step back from daily operations and is recruiting senior staff.
• Training will be provided; opportunities for advancement exist.
• Main products include moorings and boat maintenance services.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on management and operational duties.
• Supervise site conditions, workshop, and stores.
• Coordinate with office tasks and staff.
• Assist with sales, estimates, and job planning.
• Operate gantry cranes for boat launching.
• Move boats using hydraulic trailers and tractors.
• Perform jet washing, GRP/Epoxy repairs, engine servicing, electrical works, and site maintenance.
• Handle marina deliveries, invoicing, and customer communications.

Skills and Qualifications

• Hands-on individual with experience on small boats is advantageous.
• IT skills including email, Word, and Excel.
• Technical and managerial skills, including scheduling and multitasking.
• Customer service experience, including handling requests and paperwork.
