Job summary

UNISERVE HOLDINGS LIMITED is seeking a reliable Multi-Skilled Operative to join our Felixstowe container depot. The role focuses on safe forklift operation, yard movement, storage, and preparation of equipment in an open-air environment.

You will handle counterbalance forklifts, assist with loading/unloading, stock checks, and ensure accurate records while maintaining safety and efficiency in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
• Experience operating Counterbalance Forklift Trucks in outdoor yards.
• Strong health and safety understanding in logistics/industrial environments.
• Experience loading/unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Flexible approach to changing priorities.
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Counterbalance Forklift Trucks in yard and depot procedures.
• Load, unload, move, and position materials and cargo in the yard.
• Support vehicle loading/unloading activities.
• Assist with receipt, storage, control and dispatch of equipment and materials.
• Carry out daily forklift checks and report defects.
• Record movements in company systems and maintain documentation.
• Maintain safe traffic routes and storage areas.
• Conduct visual inspections for damage or concerns.
• Support housekeeping and keep a clean, safe environment.
• Assist with stock checks and location management.
• Work with supervisors to meet targets and customer requirements.
• Support general depot and yard duties as required.
• Build positive relationships with customers, drivers and colleagues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for safety and efficiency.
