Job summary

Source 4 is seeking a Yard Operative to join our Reading team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. You will assist customers, load materials, pack stock, and operate a fleet of forklifts with training provided.

Candidates should hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence and a Full UK Driving Licence. Previous yard or builders merchant experience is preferred. Hours are 7:00–4:30 or 7:30–5:00 on weekdays, with Saturday work after permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence required.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Yard, warehouse or builders merchant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with selecting and loading building materials.
• Pick and pack stock for deliveries and loading/unloading vehicles.
• Operate a mixed fleet of forklifts (diesel and electric) with training provided.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
• Carry out forklift and plant checks and support other teams as needed.
• Contribute to company growth and customer service excellence.
