As a family-run company since 1934, we've built our success on the dedication, enthusiasm, and can-do spirit of our team, doubling our profits in the last five years. We're not just building structures; we're building careers and a future, together.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Yard Foreman to become a pivotal part of our Hull depot operations. In this key leadership role, you will champion efficiency, safety, and quality across all yard activities. Take charge of the seamless repair, refurbishment, and fit-out of our modular buildings and cabins, leading a dedicated team to uphold our high standards. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are ready to make a significant impact, we invite you to grow with us.

About the role

As our Yard Foreman, you will be instrumental in the smooth operation of our Hull depot. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency across all yard activities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating, and developing your team to achieve optimal productivity and effectiveness.

  • Overseeing the repair, refurbishment, and fit-out of modular buildings and cabins to stringent AQPG standards.

  • Managing stock availability, ensuring units are prepared promptly for hire and customer requirements are met.

  • Championing health and safety, conducting equipment checks, and providing essential training.

  • Implementing meticulous quality control, inspecting units pre-delivery and post-return, accurately reporting any issues.

  • Optimising material usage, including procurement and waste minimisation.

  • Mentoring junior staff and apprentices, fostering their skills and growth.

  • Maintaining an organised, clean, and safe workshop and hire yard.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Significant experience in modular building or cabin fit-out.

  • Proven management or supervisory experience within a similar operational environment.

  • Exceptional leadership and team motivation abilities, with a flair for effective delegation.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Practical expertise in plumbing, joinery, and basic electrical work.

  • A full, valid driving licence.

  • The resilience to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Your Future with the Wernick Group:
At Wernick, you're more than an employee; you're a vital part of a team that’s building the future of construction. Join us in our journey of continuous innovation and commitment to quality, and let's be 'Altogether Stronger'.
