Job summary

Wernick Hire, the UK’s leading provider of modular buildings and site accommodation, seeks a Mobile Service Engineer to join our Hire Team and maintain our range of units at customer sites. You will diagnose faults, perform on-site repairs, and manage chargeable call-out information with training provided.

The role emphasizes a proactive, customer-focused approach, ability to manage multiple site visits efficiently, and strong practical skills across trades.

Qualifications

  • Experience in site accommodation hire, installation and maintenance is highly advantageous.
  • Must hold a valid driving licence.
  • Hands-on skills across plumbing, joinery and electrics are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues across cabins, modular units and welfare facilities.
  • Performing maintenance tasks including joinery, roof repairs and replacing fixtures.

Join our dynamic Hire Team, to assist in maintaining our range of units and attending customer sites to establish faults and repair.

About The Role
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues across our diverse range of cabins, modular units, and welfare facilities.
  • Executing comprehensive maintenance tasks, from joinery work like replacing wall boards and fitting doors, to performing roof repairs and replacing fixtures.
  • Conducting on-site installation and dismantling of units, including the erection and removal of staircases and link units.
  • Managing necessary documentation and professionally communicating chargeable call-out information to customers, supported by full training.

  • A highly adaptable and organised individual with a keen attitude and the ability to manage multiple site visits efficiently.
  • A skilled problem-solver with a 'fix it first time' approach, demonstrating strong practical skills across various trades.

  • Possessing excellent communication skills, enabling professional interaction with clients.
  • Experience in site accommodation hire, installation, and maintenance is highly advantageous.

Required Criteria
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Presentable with an excellent customer service attitude
  • Skills in plumbing, joinery and electrics (would suit a handyman/woman)
  • Ability to perform maintenance on a range of units.
  • Must hold a valid driving license.
Desired Criteria
  • Experience in cabin fitting would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience with modular buildings or site accommodation.
