Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd is seeking a reliable Yard Person / Delivery Driver in the United Kingdom. This varied, hands-on role covers yard duties, manual work and driving, with responsibility for supporting machinery and parts deliveries and maintaining the depot.

You will load, unload and secure machinery, drive a 3.5T van to collect and deliver equipment, perform basic vehicle checks, assist with stock movements and paperwork, and help customers with purchases.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous delivery, driving or yard-based experience.
• Trailer towing experience; relevant entitlement preferred.
• Understand safe loading, unloading and securing practices.
• Physically fit for outdoor manual work.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility for occasional early starts or late finishes.
• Experience in horticultural, agricultural or construction sectors desirable.
• Forklift licence or other relevant qualifications desirable.
• Good knowledge of East and West Sussex advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload and secure machinery for transport.
• Drive vehicles including 3.5T flatbed vans to collect and deliver machinery, parts and goods.
• Carry out general grounds maintenance, including mowing, strimming and leaf blowing.
• Complete vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Support the stores team with stock movements and organisation.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Carry out basic assembly tasks, such as building wheelbarrows.
• Assist customers with purchases and horticultural machinery repairs.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
• Carry out general yard maintenance including painting, drain clearance and sweeping.
• Work independently while supporting the wider team as required.
