Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC in Horsham, England seeks a reliable Yardman to support day-to-day yard and facilities activities across the South of the UK. The role focuses on keeping a safe, organised yard while ensuring vehicles, plant and materials are ready for project delivery.

The candidate will load/unload, inspect, and prepare equipment, manage stock and assist with logistics. A UK driving license and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are preferred for this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in yard, warehouse, logistics, construction or operational support
• Good understanding of safe working practices
• Ability to undertake manual handling and physical tasks
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic record-keeping and communication skills
• Flexible approach to supporting operational requirements
• Experience within construction, utilities, drainage, or infrastructure sectors (desirable)
• Full UK driving license (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment
• Load and unload vehicles, materials, and equipment
• Prepare plant, tools, and equipment for operational use
• Inspect vehicles, equipment, and assets for damage or defects
• Manage stock levels of materials, consumables, and PPE
• Carry out routine yard maintenance and housekeeping duties
• Assist with deliveries, collections, and logistical activities
• Ensure equipment is stored securely and correctly
• Support vehicle and plant checks, servicing schedules, and record keeping
• Operate forklifts and yard equipment where qualified
• Segregate and dispose of waste materials in accordance with procedures
• Assist operational teams with mobilisation and demobilisation
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental procedures
• Represent Lining Division Ltd professionally at all times
