Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd is seeking a reliable Yard Person / Delivery Driver in the United Kingdom to join an established team. The role blends yard duties, manual work and driving, with responsibility for supporting machinery deliveries and depot upkeep.

Key tasks include loading/unloading, transporting machinery with a 3.5T van, site maintenance and stock organisation, with a focus on health and safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience in delivery, driving or yard-based roles.
• Trailer towing experience preferred.
• Safe loading, unloading and securing practices are essential.
• Physically fit for outdoor manual work.
• Good communication and time-management skills required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to start early or finish late as needed.
• Experience in horticultural, agricultural or construction sectors is desirable.
• Forklift licence or similar qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload and secure machinery for transportation.
• Drive vehicles including 3.5T flatbed vans to collect and deliver machinery, parts and goods.
• Carry out general grounds maintenance, including mowing, strimming and leaf blowing.
• Complete vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Support the stores team with stock movements and organisation.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Carry out basic assembly tasks, such as building wheelbarrows.
• Assist customers with purchases and horticultural machinery repairs.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
• Carry out general yard maintenance including painting, drain clearance and sweeping.
• Work independently while supporting the wider team as required.
