Job summary

JobsTrackR is hiring a Yard Controller in Peterborough to take ownership of daily yard operations and drive improvements across multiple sites.

The role involves leading a small team of four operatives, managing goods in/out, stock control and coordination with production and logistics functions to ensure accurate and timely dispatches.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a team in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
• Forklift operation experience is essential; licence is beneficial.
• Strong stock control and inventory management capabilities.
• Ability to identify improvements, organise space and drive efficiency.

Yard Controller - Lead, Organise and Drive Improvements

We're recruiting for an experienced Yard Controller to join a growing manufacturing business in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Yard Controller who enjoys taking ownership, leading people and improving processes within a busy operational environment.

The successful Yard Controller will oversee the day-to-day running of the yard, supporting goods in, goods out, stock control and logistics operations across multiple nearby sites. If you're the type of Yard Controller who can bring structure, improve organisation and ensure products are located and dispatched efficiently, we want to hear from you.

This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to maintain the status quo. The business is looking for a hands-on Yard Controller who can identify improvements, increase efficiency and help support ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily yard operations
• Lead and support a team of 4 operatives, with plans to grow further

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Yard Controller, Yard Supervisor, Yard Manager or similar
• Experience leading or supervising a team
• Strong goods in/goods out experience
• Forklift experience is essential
• Forklift licence beneficial but not essential
• Experience handling large, awkward or oversized products
• Strong organisational and stock control skills
• Ability to implement improvements and take ownership
• Manufacturing, logistics, stores or yard background
