Job summary

Travis Perkins in Reading is seeking a Yard Assistant to support our branch operations. You will process customer orders, load and unload vehicles, and handle stock in the yard with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Experience with a forklift is ideal, but full training is provided. The role is customer-facing, requiring enthusiasm, strong interpersonal skills, and the stamina to manage heavy and bulky stock in a fast-paced environment. You’ll join a team dedicated to service and reliability.

Qualifications

• You will handle heavy/bulky stock in a safe, compliant manner.
• Full training is provided for role-specific tasks and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders at the yard and on-site as required.
• Load and unload customer and company vehicles.
• Unload building products from deliveries and book them into the branch warehouse.
• Maintain a tidy, safe working environment in line with safety standards.
• Operate with training provided for forklift use and stock handling.
