Job summary

Travis Perkins in Edinburgh is seeking a Yard Assistant to deliver friendly, customer-focused service in our outdoor yard. You’ll be based on site, processing orders, loading and unloading vehicles, and unloading building products from deliveries.

Forklift experience is ideal but full training is provided. Safety comes first, with a tidy, safe working environment, sociable daytime hours, and benefits including 22 days’ holiday, enhanced pension, staff discounts and ShareSave.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing role requires enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to process heavy and bulky stock.
• Forklift experience is ideal but full training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders in the Yard, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and book them into the branch warehouse.
• Maintain a tidy and safe working environment with a focus on health and safety.
