Targeted Support Officer (Housing Lead)

2X Fixed Term up to 31st March 2027

Make a real difference by supporting newly arrived communities across Warwickshire. Building on over 10 years of resettlement work, we deliver targeted support for refugees, visa holders, and asylum seekers, promoting integration, wellbeing, and access to essential services through strong partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Housing Advice & Homelessness Prevention Support
  • Deliver tailored housing options advice and support to individuals and families across migration service that is in line with relevant housing legislation.
  • Implement proactive measures to prevent homelessness and ensure access to suitable accommodation.
  • Advocate for Newly Arrived Communities
  • Act as a key point of contact and advocate for newly arrived communities, ensuring their housing needs are understood and addressed.
  • Build strong relationships with District and Borough partners to coordinate effective housing solutions.
  • Strategic Planning & Performance
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives related to housing and migration support.
  • Assist in performance reporting and monitoring outcomes to ensure service effectiveness.
  • Collaborative Projects
  • Participate in multi-agency projects and partnerships aimed at improving housing provision and integration for migrant communities.
  • Share best practices and support continuous improvement across housing-related services.
  • Data Management & Service Coordination
  • Use both internal and external data systems to accurately record, monitor, and evaluate the movement of individuals.
  • Ensure data integrity to support effective coordination of services and promote meaningful engagement with local support networks.
  • Safeguarding & Wellbeing
  • Work closely with safeguarding services to ensure the safety and wellbeing of individuals.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration to identify and respond to any concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

You will have:

  • A working, current understanding of migration and resettlement housing protocols, including statutory duties and best practice approaches.
  • At least two years’ recent experience working with both the private and public housing sectors, with proven ability to navigate complex housing challenges.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the Homes for Ukraine scheme and asylum legislation, including relevant guidance and compliance requirements.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the needs of vulnerable communities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills, enabling collaboration with local authorities, housing providers, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Ability to interpret and apply housing legislation and policy in practical scenarios.
  • Competence in data reporting and performance monitoring, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • High level of problem-solving and organisational skills, with resilience in managing competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding principles and procedures, ensuring the protection and wellbeing of individuals.
