Job summary

Multitech Site Services Ltd is seeking a hands-on Warehouse/Workshop Assistant to join a small team in a busy workshop. You will handle receipt, inspection, and issue of general materials and electrical equipment, assist in servicing and repairs, and help prepare orders for delivery to sites across regions.

Applicants should be physically able to handle heavy items and be ready to work under the Workshop Lead with training on electrical aspects and health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar warehouse/workshop role.
• Good basic education qualifications.
• Electrical component knowledge or maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Warehouse: follow health and safety procedures, process goods in/out, maintain stock and tidy workspace.
• Workshop: assist with servicing and repairs of lighting products and plant equipment, support delivery preparation.
• General duties: assist loading/unloading, packing, manage paperwork, recycle and reduce waste, maintain building cleanliness.

Job description

Role Purpose

Working as part of a small team in a busy workshop, this varied role involves the receipt of general materials along with plant and electrical equipment from a broad range of specialist suppliers.

You will be involved in the repairing, picking of our electrical equipment for daily issue to our installation teams for installation on sites across our regions.

Some of our equipment (transformers, drums of cable etc) are heavy items, applicants must therefore be physically able to handle such equipment.

Basic repairs, cleaning and servicing of temporary electrical equipment returned from construction sites along with some assembly activities is another part of the role.

Further training will be provided in the electrical aspects of the position together with manual handling and site awareness. You will gain experience whilst working under the guidance of the Workshop Lead.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the role

Warehouse

• Work with an environmental awareness to recycle and avoid wastage
• Follow procedures and processes to ensure company standards are met always with respect to Health and Safety across the site and warehouse operations.
• Carry out any necessary paperwork accurately and promptly
• Work with an environmental awareness to recycle and avoid wastage
• Goods In and goods out processes.
• Maintenance of the building.
• Support with weekly stock takes.

Workshop

• Assist the general workshop team where required.
• Carry out servicing and repairs to our range of lighting products
• Check returned plant for damage and shortages
• Clean down and prepare equipment and plant prior to servicing
• Carry out basic plant repairs in support of the workshop technician
• To help prepare orders and plant prior to delivery
• To carry out any administration that may need to be completed prior to plant leaving the workshop
• Assisting in the warehouse function by picking and packing items where necessary
• General warehouse duties where required including assisting with loading and unloading
• To maintain a suitable level of tidiness and housekeeping within the workshop
• To work in an environmentally aware manner by recycling and avoiding wastage
• Following company policy and procedures ensuring that company standards are met in line with health and safety requirements

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Good basic education and qualifications
• Experience of a similar role and accountabilities

Preferred

• Electrical component knowledge and/or maintenance experience

Support and Training

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake departmental specific development and training. And will be provided with comprehensive training plan for the role which will include spending time working with other teams in the business.
