Job summary

Dräger in Blyth (UK) is seeking a qualified technician to manufacture Fire & Gas detection control panels and gas-detection systems. You will perform electrical fitting and installation work, read technical drawings, and help ensure quality and timely completion of production orders.

The role requires NVQ3 or HNC-level experience with instrumentation assembly and testing. You will contribute to a safe workplace, participate in 6S audits, and support Team Leader in daily manufacturing tasks.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 or equivalent industrial qualification is required.
• Experience in electrical fitting and installation is essential.
• Experience with instrumentation assembly and testing is required.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture Fire & Gas detection control panels and gas-detection systems.
• Perform pre-inspection checks and prepare equipment for inspection.
• Promote 6S audits and maintain a safe working environment.

About The Role

Working safely as part of a team tasked with manufacturing Draeger’s Fire & Gas detection systems.

Manufacturing Fire & Gas detection Control Panels using Draeger and/or third party supplied equipment.

Manufacturing Gas Detection Sampling Systems using Draeger and/or third party supplied equipment.

Pre-inspection checks of colleagues work and preparing Fire & Gas Detection Systems and equipment for inspection.

Work in an effective and efficient manner to ensure production orders are completed on time and to a high quality.

Actively promote continual improvements to drive the business forward. Taking part in 6S audits.

Work safely and promote a safe place to work culture.

Related Experience

Electrical fitting work, electrical installation work, instrumentation assembly and testing.

Skills, Special Competencies

Marking out back plates, drilling, tapping, wiring, looming, glanding, understanding technical drawings, soldering, pipe bending, valve assemblies and compression fittings. Reading and interpreting instrument control system drawings, reading, interpreting and following risk assessments / SOPs, and reading / following test procedures.
