Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Bristol Avonmouth is seeking a skilled Workshop Technician to deliver high-quality servicing, maintenance and repair work in a busy workshop. You will work both independently and with colleagues to uphold our reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.

You will apply knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel and electric engines, and will contribute to keeping vehicles and equipment in peak condition.

Qualifications

  • Qualified mechanic or time-served technician.
  • Experience with special purpose vehicles (e.g., plant equipment, cranes, forklifts).
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is advantageous.
  • Understanding of diesel and electric engines.
  • A reasonably clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide range of service and repair work efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Diagnose faults and provide practical, cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, organised working area to support a professional workshop image.
  • Attend occasional onsite jobs as required.

Are you an experienced Workshop Technician looking to take the next step in your career? We are a market-leading manufacturer of special purpose vehicles, and we’re seeking a skilled and motivated Workshop Technician to join our high 'performing team in Avonmouth

About the Role

As a Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high quality servicing, maintenance, and repairs within a busy workshop environment. Working both independently and alongside other technicians, you will help ensure customer satisfaction and uphold our reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a wide range of service and repair work efficiently and to the highest standards
  • Diagnose faults and provide practical, cost 'effective technical solutions
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time
  • Maintain a clean, organised working area to support a professional workshop image
  • Attend occasional onsite jobs as required
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Qualified mechanic or time ‘served technician
  • Experience working with special purpose vehicles (e.g., plant equipment, cranes, forklifts)
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is advantageous
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to quality
  • Understanding of diesel and electric engines
  • A reasonably clean driving licence
  • Candidates with HGV, forklift, or mobile plant backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply- your skills transfer seamlessly to a Workshop Technician role
