Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Senior Workshop Machine Operative in Huntingdon. The role involves manufacturing items to meet customer specifications using standard machine shop equipment, while assisting and guiding the workshop team with technical knowledge.

Ideal candidates will have machine shop experience or related qualifications, with a careful eye for detail and a proactive, collaborative attitude. Onsite work and immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Experience in a machine shop or engineering environment.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and technical instructions.
• Experience reading drawings/sketches and measuring dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture items meeting customer requirements using conventional machine shop equipment.
• Support the wider workshop team with knowledge and collaboration.
• Follow sketches, patterns and measurements for cutting and fabrication.

Now Hiring: Senior Workshop Machine Operative

Location: Huntingdon
Salary: £36k
Contract Type: DAYS
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

About the role:
Working as part of the workshop team you will use your engineering skills and knowledge to manufacture items that meet customer requirements using conventional machine shop equipment and support the wider team with your knowledge. Ideally you will have machine shop experience and or qualifications and would be willing to learn additional skills within the department. WE are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Key Requirements

• Ability to use general workshop equipment such as bandsaw, lathe, vertical mill and guillotines
• Engineering / machine shop experience or qualification
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written technical instructions.
• Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures and general instructions
• Attention to detail and quality
• Care and patience towards dealing with fragile and delicate materials
• Experience of using computer systems
• Proactive and positive attitude
• Strong communication and team working skills
• Ability to retrieve field information, such as dimensions and angles, without supervision.
• Ability to interpret and follow sketches and patterns for cutting and fabricating.
• Basic knowledge of metals, materials, polymers or ceramics is an advantage
