Job summary

SER (Staffing) Ltd is seeking a skilled Workshop-Based Plant Fitter to service a variety of plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, rollers, and telehandlers at the Newbury site. Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter in a workshop environment.
• Strong knowledge of plant machinery (excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers).
• Skills in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Qualifications in plant maintenance or engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to safety and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and minimal downtime.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
