LJ Recruitment Limited in England is seeking an experienced Workshop Plant Fitter to join a busy Essex workshop. You will service, maintain and repair construction plant, heavy machinery and equipment in a modern, fully equipped facility.

The role focuses on diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, performing PPMs, and ensuring accurate service records. Own tools and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Workshop Plant Fitter

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location: Essex - Workshop Based

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm

We are recruiting for an experienced Workshop Plant Fitter to join an established and growing company specialising in the maintenance, servicing and repair of construction plant and machinery.

This is a predominantly workshop-based position within a modern, fully equipped facility, offering the opportunity to work on a varied range of heavy plant, construction equipment and machinery.

We would be keen to hear from experienced Plant Fitters, Plant Mechanics, Workshop Engineers and Plant Engineers with strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a wide range of construction plant, heavy machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Workshop Engineer, Plant Mechanic, Plant Engineer or similar.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing construction plant, heavy machinery or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with good hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience using computer diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults, identify suitable repairs and work independently.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to complete accurate service documentation.
• A reliable, flexible approach and the ability to work effectively under pressure as part of a team.
• Own tools and a full UK driving licence are essential.
