Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking a Workshop Operative for a Bradford-based engineering manufacturer. This permanent role offers long-term stability, ongoing training, and progression as the business expands after recent investment.

Ideal candidates have a trades or practical background, especially in painting and decorating, finishing or construction. Working hours are 7:30am–4:00pm with overtime and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a practical, hands-on or trades environment.
  • Background in painting and decorating, construction or finishing preferred.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and working with your hands.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality.
  • Reliable and a good team player.
  • Willingness to learn new skills in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Apply fibreglass coating to modular buildings using rollers and hand tools.
  • Prepare surfaces and ensure coatings are applied evenly and to a high standard.
  • Work from drawings and specifications when required.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out finishing and general workshop duties as required.
  • Support the wider production team to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Workshop Operative to join a well-established, Bradford-based engineering manufacturer. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, ongoing training, and genuine progression as the company continues to expand following significant recent investment.

The role would suit someone with a trades or practical background, particularly those with experience in painting and decorating, finishing, construction or similar hands‑on environments.

What's on offer for the Workshop Operative?
  • Starting pay rate of £13.32 per hour (£27,009 per annum), rising to £13.80 per hour (£27,986 per annum) following successful completion of probation
  • Overtime paid at time and a half through the week
  • 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and your birthday off
