Job summary

Stagecoach Perth depot is seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager to lead a team across 102+ vehicles. You will oversee maintenance scheduling, service delivery, and quality checks to ensure reliable, well-presented buses. Strong leadership and a proactive safety mindset are essential for continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Experience supervising or managing a workshop or technical team.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards.

What you'll be doing

• Leading and motivating your team to deliver safe, reliable and well‑presented vehicles
• Scheduling and prioritising vehicle maintenance and servicing activities
• Supporting team development, identifying training needs and fostering continuous improvement
• Quality checking vehicles after maintenance to ensure high standards are met
• Upholding health, safety and environmental standards in line with legislation and Stagecoach policy

What we're looking for

• Relevant engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical and bodywork knowledge
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant engineering field (mechanical or automotive)
• Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team, and a strong understanding of PCV operations
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards
• A people‑centred approach to leadership, with strong communication and influencing skills
• Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment
