Job summary

Stagecoach Bus in Inverness is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead a diverse team of engineers, technicians and cleaners, ensuring our fleet is clean, safe and road-ready.

Working alongside the Engineering Manager, you’ll plan maintenance, prioritise servicing, and develop colleagues while driving continuous improvement. Based at Inverness Depot, 1 Seafield Road, Inverness IV1 1SG, this hands-on leadership role focuses on safe procedures and high vehicle standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team.
• Strong understanding of PCV operations.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulatory standards.
• People-centred leadership with strong communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment.

As Workshop Manager, you’ll play a central role in ensuring our fleet is clean, safe, and road-ready. Working alongside the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and support a diverse team of skilled colleagues, including Engineers, Technicians and Cleaners, creating a positive environment where people thrive.

What we’re looking for

• Relevant engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical and bodywork knowledge
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant engineering field (mechanical or automotive)
• Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team, and a strong understanding of PCV operations
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards
• A people-centred approach to leadership, with strong communication and influencing skills
• Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment
