About the Role

Workshop Manager

Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk | Permanent position

About Us:

ScanTech Offshore Ltd – part of the James Fisher Group, provides a range of rental equipment including air compressors, steam generators, and rig cooling services, as well as designing, installing, and commissioning bespoke heat suppression safety systems.

The Energy Division offers safe, sustainable products and services for oil, gas, and renewables markets.

The Role:

To oversee and optimize maintenance operations at the Great Yarmouth hub, fostering a proactive work environment, leading with a positive attitude, and driving efficiency and innovation to meet operational goals.

Principal Accountabilities:
  1. Leadership and Maintenance: Oversee planned and preventative maintenance, ensuring reliability and aesthetics.
  2. Inventory and Load Out: Manage inventory load out and coordinate with certifying authorities.
  3. Equipment Refurbishment: Plan and implement refurbishment of equipment to meet standards and certifications.
  4. Technician Coaching: Mentor technicians for their development.
  5. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain all required reports and documentation.
  6. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance of hoses, ancillary equipment, and calibration tools.
  7. Quality Control: Oversee service records and paperwork.
  8. Safety and Meetings: Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  9. Culture and Work Ethic: Promote a positive work culture and be flexible with overtime.
  10. Team Management: Manage workshop team operations.
  11. Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection: Prioritize safety and environmental standards.
  12. Quality and Professionalism: Maintain high standards of work quality.
  13. Training and Development: Identify and communicate training needs.
Skills & Experience:
  • Offshore field experience in well testing or equipment operation.
  • Proven supervisory skills, ability to delegate effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
You will need:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering, with a diesel engine background.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
