The Opportunity: Workshop Forklift Engineer

Contract: Permanent

Location: Dewsbury

Salary: £27,000 - £31,000

Forkway is one of the UK’s leading materials handling solutions providers, with around 100 employees across three Handling Centres and several strategic service centres.

The Impact you will have:

  1. Undertake repair and maintenance of industrial, agricultural, and warehousing trucks and ancillary equipment, ensuring maximum profitability and return.
  2. Highlight and record all damage and faults accurately on appropriate Forkway documentation.
  3. Provide professional, efficient, and responsive service support to customers by maintaining and repairing materials handling equipment to the highest standards while observing Health and Safety regulations.
  4. Complete all required paperwork, including servicing sheets, breakdown reports, accident reports, timesheets, and quotes, in a timely manner.

What will help you to excel in this role:

  1. Experience working on cars, vans, HGVs, forklifts, or plant machinery.
  2. Ability to strip and reassemble hydraulic valve banks, cylinders, and gear pumps.
  3. Ability to interpret test information for main, forward/reverse clutch, torque converter pressure, and conduct full stall tests.
