GAP Group Limited is seeking a skilled Workshop Foreman to join our Plant & Tool division. You will oversee depot workshop operations, lead a team of Fitters, manage workloads, and ensure the fleet of diggers, dumpers and power tools is maintained to hire-ready standards.

Qualifications

• Senior plant mechanic or fitter with relevant qualifications or time-served background.
• Solid knowledge of heavy plant machinery maintenance.
• Strong team management skills in a fast-paced workshop environment.
• Full, valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the depot workshop.
• Allocating and monitoring workloads across the fitter team to maximise productivity and meet targets.
• Leading by example to maintain safety, service, and equipment care.
• Implementing planned maintenance programmes to reduce downtime and repair costs.
• Ensuring accurate records of servicing, repairs, and appliance testing are maintained and compliant with legislation.
• Managing workshop cleanliness, vehicle maintenance schedules, and off-hire inspections.
• Coaching and developing workshop staff, identifying training needs and supporting career growth.
• Monitoring plant breakdowns and ensuring efficient resolution.
