Job summary

Auto Skills UK is recruiting a Workshop Foreman in Reading to lead a team of HGV technicians, coordinating workloads and ensuring efficient workshop operations. You will allocate jobs, monitor progress and drive continuous improvements in servicing, maintenance and fault diagnosis.

The ideal candidate will have substantial hands-on experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to safety, quality and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Workshop Foreman

Location: Reading

Salary: £53,000 per annum + Overtime time and half

Hours: Monday to Friday - Rotating Shifts

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

The Role

As Workshop Foreman, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the workshop and coordinating workloads.
• Supervising, motivating and supporting a team of technicians.
• Allocating jobs and monitoring progress to ensure work is completed efficiently as Workshop Foreman.
• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical faults
• Identifying faults and completing effective repairs

What We're Looking For as a Workshop Foreman

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, ideally within a commercial vehicle workshop.
• Experience in a supervisory, team leader or workshop foreman position, or the ability to demonstrate strong leadership potential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• A good understanding of vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair procedures.
• The ability to organise workloads and support a team in a fast-paced workshop.
