Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Workshop Fitter/Assembler (Mechanical) in Glasgow. £35,000–£40,000 with optional overtime (OTE £50k), 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, days-based shifts. Private medical and 32 days holiday are offered.

You will read drawings, assemble and test equipment for the water industry, with training on guillotine and press brake. Join a growing manufacturer with a long-term career path, working in a close-knit team of eight and occasional site

Qualifications

• Reading engineering drawings and using hand tools.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
• Experience as a fitter/assembler in a mechanical environment.

Responsibilities

• Occasional site visits for installations.
• Work Monday to Thursday 8am–4pm, finish 1pm on Friday (35 hours).

Are you a Fitter/Assembler from a mechanical background, looking to join a family-feel, growing company, working only 35 hours a week with plenty of optional overtime to increase your earnings?

In this days-based, Monday to Friday role you will be reading drawings to prepare, assemble, and test a range of industrial equipment for use in the water industry. You will be trained on using a guillotine and press brake, working in a close-knit team of 8.

Founded 20 years ago this manufacturer have received heavy investment in recent years, with plans to double their turnover in the next 2 years. They supply their niche products into the water industry and are becoming market-leaders in their field.

This role would suit a Mechanical Fitter looking to settle long-term in a company they will be proud to work for, with great hours and optional overtime if they want.

The Role

• Preparing, assembling, and testing mechanical parts and equipment
• Reading engineering drawings and using hand tools
• Using guillotine and press brake with full training given
• Going to sites every few months to help with installations
• Monday to Thursday 8am - 4pm, finish at 1pm on Friday, 35 hours a week
