Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment in Glasgow is seeking a Workshop Fitter/Assembler (Mechanical) for a days-based role, 35 hours per week. You will read drawings, assemble and test mechanical parts for water-industry equipment, with training on guillotine and press brake. Occasional site visits every few months are required.

The position offers 35–40k base with optional overtime to reach around 50k, private medical and generous holiday. Monday to Friday, early finish Friday.

Are you a Fitter/Assembler from a mechanical background, looking to join a family-feel, growing company, working only 35 hours a week with plenty of optional overtime to increase your earnings?

In this days-based, Monday to Friday role you will be reading drawings to prepare, assemble, and test a range of industrial equipment for use in the water industry. You will be trained on using a guillotine and press brake, working in a close-knit team of 8.

Founded 20 years ago this manufacturer have received heavy investment in recent years, with plans to double their turnover in the next 2 years. They supply their niche products into the water industry and are becoming market-leaders in their field.

This role would suit a Mechanical Fitter looking to settle long-term in a company they will be proud to work for, with great hours and optional overtime if they want.

The Role:

• Preparing, assembling, and testing mechanical parts and equipment
• Reading engineering drawings and using hand tools
• Using guillotine and press brake with full training given
• Going to sites every few months to help with installations
• Monday to Thursday 8am - 4pm, finish at 1pm on Friday, 35 hours a week
