Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is looking for a Workshop Engineer with mechanical and electrical wiring experience to join a leading pump manufacturer in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area. The role involves assembling, service, repair and inspection of pumps and equipment, plus wiring control units and programming them to the specs in technical drawings.

A clear path to Supervisor exists through progression. You'll work Monday to Friday in a workshop environment, with a company bonus and training

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar engineering, pump, or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on electrical wiring and mechanical experience.
• Ability to pass DBS checks.
• Commutable to Newcastle-Under-Lyme.

Workshop Engineer (Pumps / Progression)

Are you a Workshop Engineer with mechanical and electrical wiring experience looking to join a leading pump manufacturer offering varied work, manufacturer-specific training, and progression to Supervisor?

This established UK manufacturer designs, manufactures, and services pumps and pumping equipment for the construction, utilities, housing, and wastewater sectors, supplying solutions to contractors, developers, and organisations nationwide.

In this role, you will assemble, service, repair, and inspect pumps and associated equipment, alongside wiring control units and connecting them to kiosks using technical drawings and work instructions. You'll programme control units, fault-find mechanical assemblies, inspect materials before dispatch, and support colleagues in resolving technical issues. This is a hands-on workshop role with progression to Supervisor available.

This role would suit a Workshop Engineer from a pump manufactering, or similar engineering background, with basic electrical wiring experience, looking to join an established manufacturer offering long-term career progression and a company bonus.

£30,000 - £35,000 + Company Benefits + Training + Progression + Company Bonus + 5% Pension

Newcastle-under-Lyme - Workshop based
