Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Workshop Engineer (Pumps) for a Newcastle-under-Lyme based role. You will service, repair, and assemble pumps, wire control units, and program units using drawings and instructions.

This hands-on workshop position offers progression to Supervisor, training, and a company bonus, with a 30k-35k salary and 5% pension. Commutable to the site and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in a workshop/engineering environment is essential.
• Basic electrical wiring experience is required.
• Experience with pumps or pump manufacturing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Workshop Engineer (Pumps / Progression)

Newcastle-under-Lyme - Workshop based

Are you a Workshop Engineer with mechanical and electrical wiring experience looking to join a leading pump manufacturer offering varied work, manufacturer-specific training, and progression to Supervisor?

This established UK manufacturer designs, manufactures, and services pumps and pumping equipment for the construction, utilities, housing, and wastewater sectors, supplying solutions to contractors, developers, and organisations nationwide.

In this role, you will assemble, service, repair, and inspect pumps and associated equipment, alongside wiring control units and connecting them to kiosks using technical drawings and work instructions. You'll programme control units, fault-find mechanical assemblies, inspect materials before dispatch, and support colleagues in resolving technical issues. This is a hands-on workshop role with progression to Supervisor available.

This role would suit a Workshop Engineer from a pump manufactering, or similar engineering background, with basic electrical wiring experience, looking to join an established manufacturer offering long-term career progression and a company bonus.

The Role:

• Service, repair, assemble, and inspect pumps and associated equipment
• Wire control units and connect equipment using technical drawings
• Programme control units and fault-find mechanical and electrical assemblies
• Inspect deliveries and completed equipment before dispatch
• Work alongside a dedicated engineering team, with progression to Supervisor

Monday - Friday, workshop based

The Person:

• Experience in a similar engineering, pump, or manufacturing environment
• Hands-on electrical wiring and mechanical experience
• Ability to pass DBS checks
• Commutable to Newcastle-Under-Lyme
